Factors Causing Obesity
For simple, obesity is caused by calorie imbalance. What causes this imbalance varies from one another. We also know obesity is more than just over-eating. Genetic, environmental, psychological, and other factors seem to play a major role in causing obesity.
Here are some factors that have been associated with obesity:
1. Get the Weight During a certain period
Someone generally get more weight over a period of life following: between 12 and 18 years of age, between 12 and 16 years, when the adults who benefit exceeds 60% of their ideal body weight and women, during pregnancy.
2. Genetic factors
Heredity is linked to obesity. Adopted from the study showed that children who adopted children tend to have weights closer to their biological parents than their adoptive parents.
3. Environmental factors
Environment also influence obesity. This includes lifestyle behaviors such as what people eat and their level of physical activity. The tendency to eat high-fat foods, for use of labor saving devices are combined with the lifestyle of sedentary cause behind obesity.
4. Psychological factors
Many people eat when they emphasize, bored or angry. Over time, an association between emotions and food can still be strong.
Depression and stress can also cause obesity and a leading cause of eating disorders. Studies show most people are not overweight more psychological problems of people of average weight.
Most eating disorders can also be for the implementation of behavioral or psychological difficulties. Up to 10 percent of those who are quite obese, and that trying to lose weight on their own or through commercial weight loss programs have binge eating disorder. This disorder is more common in people who are very obese.
5. Age
Metabolism slows down with advancing age. When you get older you do not need many calories to maintain your weight as you do when you young.
If you know about these factors you are in a better position to cope with the life cycle and manage the weight without getting to the obesity problem.
